In 2000, new owners desired to remodel and add to the existing historic structure. Central to the design objectives was to integrate a contemporary addition with an older twice remodeled structure in a way that resulted in a rich and visually pleasing composition of the old and new.
Preserving the appearance of the existing house was of the utmost importance out of respect for the historical legacy of the building and its role in the evolution of the Aspen community. While maintaining the exterior appearance of the house the interior space was reinvented and the relationship with the exterior landscaping rejuvenated.
